Ron,
great to hear that you will be writing even more, as your books make the ride on the metro something to look forward too now.
Your books strike a real cord with me as a career Soldier and I am extremely glad to hear you will be writing about Tiberius, a man who’s achievements are greatly underestimated, and one who I think has had his character assassinated by his political enemies, as well by being Rome’s first man during Christ’s ministry and death. Tiberius always seems to have had the loyalty of the Army, and I cannot recall anything where the legions, auxilia, or navy ever had any grievances against him. Yes, Germanicas did put down a mutiny, but I don’t seeing anything in Tacitus that stated the mutiny was directed at him, instead of at corrupt and over zealous centurions.
Mike,
Thanks for not only liking my books, but thanks for taking the time to write!
I hope to do Tiberius justice, although I will still be telling the story from the viewpoint of the grunts like us. And hopefully you’ll enjoy the next era of Marching With Caesar as you did with Titus!
Regards,
Ron
Hey Ron.
That’s an awesome trip! Nothing like eyeballing it for oneself and allow the imagination loose. Next summer I hope to travel home to Spain. May look to get up to Alesia for a night and some of the Roman areas on the east coast. Merida in souther spain was fantastic.
Travel well.
